STUDENT TESTIMONIALS

Bob Ellis

I have been taking lessons from Jamie and have found him to be an excellent teacher. He is knowledgeable and is able to zero in on the basics that you need to know to improve your playing. He does this in a non threatening way and makes learning and improving fun. I would strongly recommend him as a guitar instructor.

I started taking guitar lessons with Jamie about two years ago with very little knowledge of how a guitar works. I casually tried to teach myself how to play the guitar over the last 15 years but it didn't work, I needed help! As a teacher, Jamie was able to cue in on my strengths and weaknesses and develop a curriculum that fit my needs. Jamie's experience and knowledge of music and guitar playing goes beyond the stage, he is truly a gifted teacher. I am challenged weekly but I never feel overwhelmed. Jamie has a teachers heart and knows exactly how to guide his students through the material. If you are beginner or an experienced player I would highly recommend classes with Jamie Warren, his curriculum is well rounded and he will definitely push you to new levels.

I started taking lessons from Jamie after having played guitar for about 15 years. Up to that point, I was mostly self-taught, learning songs by ear, but with limited knowledge of theory. One of my goals when I started lessons with Jamie was to learn more about scales (modes) and how they fit in with different chord progressions. The lessons exceeded my expectations in this regard. Not only did Jamie teach me the modes, but he gave me the opportunity to put them into practice in group lessons, where we would improvise over a new musical piece every week. Jamie would also join us in these improv sessions, and listening to him play often provided the opportunity to hear a cool new lick or phrasing, which he was always happy to teach us as well. As a result of these lessons, I have become a much more confident and competent guitar player.

Jamie's strengths as a teacher are his patience and his ability to sense what is required for a student to improve as a guitar player. He is able to tailor his lessons to the skill level of the student, whether you are a beginner or more
advanced, so you always feel challenged, but never overwhelmed. He is also very professional in his teaching, and just an all-around genuinely nice guy. As a result, his lessons take place in an enjoyable and comfortable environment.

Our ten year old son has been taking lessons with Jamie for over four years now. Over this period of time Jamie has worked with him not only on mastering techniques but also with working on songs that our son is interested in learning. By doing this Jamie has made learning guitar a lot of fun and has kept his interest. Jamie is always professional and interacts well with our son. We have been very satisfied with this experience and would recommend Jamie to others interested in learning guitar.

I started taking guitar lessons from Jamie Warren a little over 3 years ago, and I can't speak highly enough about the experience I've had there.

Far from one of those "watch me shred" kind of guitar teachers. Jamie teaches *you* how to play the guitar... and all the stuff that comes along with it. Music theory, improvisation, reading music (if you want to) lots of songs, and all the exercises that help you do it all better. It's cool that from day one, you get to learn songs you like and are familiar with and that keeps it fun.

But the best part about learning guitar there for me is how patient Jamie is with teaching. Some things take time to get (or get better at,) and at Warren Guitar Lessons it hasn't ever felt rushed or pressured.

The only reason I am not still in class with Jamie is because I wanted to take a summer off to work with a band, and then pursue a degree in music at IUSB.

If you are thinking about learning guitar, Warren Guitar Lessons should be your first call!

My son Cody has been with Jamie for a few years now. All i can say is WOW! Cody's last teacher said he didn't have it in him to play guitar. Well, Jamie definitely brought it out! I noticed a difference after the first few lessons. He's not your boring "by the book" teacher. He teaches you want you want to learn along with what you need to learn. Cody was bored with
Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star now Jamie has him rocking out to slash. Jamie rocks!

I like doing lessons with Jamie. He is patient and lets me learn songs that I like or choose. He is very nice as a teacher. I have learned a lot over the last couple of years.

Our son has been taking guitar lessons with Jamie for over a year now. Jamie creates an atmosphere that is easy and fun to learn in. He is very patient and is teaching our son to play by notes, as well as by hearing. Our son is always excited to go to guitar lessons with Jamie, and enjoys the personal one-on-one attention he receives during his lesson. We have been blessed with a great guitar teacher! I would recommend Mr. Jamie Warren to anyone!

I have been playing guitar for 4 years and took lessons from 2 different teachers prior to lessons with Jamie Warren, and I feel like I learned more in a month of his lessons then I did in the 2 years of lessons I took from 2 different teachers. Within the first month, it felt as if I had learned a whole new instrument. Before I took lessons from Jamie, I was just the typical blues/rock pentatonic player. Now I can construct jazz tunes using all these chords that have big scary names that I use to never understand. Every week I feel like I take a giant step to becoming a better overall musician. If you are serious about learning guitar then I highly recommend Mr. Warren. From technique to theory, he is very well organized and
knowledgeable. He will definitely keep you busy, I always know what I need to practice and what I need to study. He's a great teacher and a cool dude.

Hi, my name is Cindy Thomas, and my son, Joe Thomas, takes guitar lessons with Jamie and is loving every minute of this. He has always loved music and Jamie has brought a whole new dimension to his learning with a more upbeat and positiveness that is great for a 14 year old boy. I love what Jamie does with my son and he is quickly becoming a guitar guru and loves many types of music now. Kudos to Jamie and thank you for remembering “the good old songs,“ from the era we all enjoyed, the 80,s. Job well done.

My daughter Lizzy has been playing guitar for about three months now and looks forward to her lessons every week. Jamie Warren is a true professional! He assigns lessons that are designed specifically to Lizzy's level and she is progressing tremendously. Due to my hectic schedule, Jamie comes to our house which also really helps, not to mention the affordable price. I highly recommend Jamie Warren as a guitar teacher!

Jeff Smith

Jamie really focuses in on what the student wants to get out of playing, whether it be rhythm, lead, whatever. He has a breath of knowledge that will benefit any student at any skill level. Taking lessons with Jamie has really opened up my playing, having made sense of techniques and theory that would usually be daunting to the casual player.

Cory Hayden

"I have been playing Guitar for about 12 years and over the years have taken lessons several times with several different people. I always quit soon after starting because there was no structure to the lessons and I always felt like I was wasting money. With Jamie, not only am I learning what I want to learn, I am learning what I "NEED" to learn to be a better musician. Jamie is an EXCELLENT instructor. His lessons give me the perfect balance between theory and technique, and I have grown more as a guitarist in 1 year taking lessons with Jamie, than the previous 11 years combined."

Bonnie Santana

I sought out Warren Guitar Lessons in hope to find an instructor that could help me understand how to play. In the past I received informal instruction through friends and while I was able to play the chords while we practiced I found that I didn’t really understand or retain what I was learning and became frustrated. Since I started lessons with Jamie I have found his approach to teaching very helpful. Jamie is teaching me the strings, notes, chords, melodies, how to read music and I am learning the basics step by step and beginning to really understand “how” to play. I’m retaining what I’m learning. I am very delighted and eager to learn better how to become a great player! I am fully confident that with Jamie's instruction I am well on my way. I highly recommend anyone interested in learning the guitar to take lessons from him. ROCK ON J

Matt Chamness

Best instructor I have had so far! Jamie was able to pick up where I left off and concentrate where I needed work and not go over a written book as most instructors do. Highly recommended!

Jack Seifer

I've been playing guitar for about 4 years now but have never really been serious about it. After playing guitar on my own for the last year or so and not really improving, I decided to answer Jamie's ad for lessons. The first free lesson was great. He assessed where I was and where I wanted to go and put together a plan for me to help me raise my playing to the next level. Now after two months, my knowledge of the fretboard and the guitar as a whole has increased dramatically. I can see my improvement week to week and I am excited about playing again. Jamie's flexibility fits into my work schedule so I don't have to take time away from my family in the evening. I highly recommend Jamie no matter what level of playing you're at.
